Die Guadiana Grand Route (GR 15) erstreckt sich \u00fcber 65 km und ist gro\u00dfartig in L\u00e4nge und Sch\u00f6nheit. Er folgt dem Fluss Guadiana, der auf seinem Weg zum Meer durch das Hochland und das Barrocal flie\u00dft.<\/p>\n

Der Guadiana verl\u00e4uft entlang der s\u00fcd\u00f6stlichen Grenze Portugals zu Spanien und wird seit etwa 800 v Mauren.<\/p>\n

Heute bedient der Fluss keine Handelsrouten mehr, aber die interessanten und sch\u00f6nen Landschaften und die reiche Geschichte und das Erbe der Region sind ein Genuss f\u00fcr die Besucher.<\/p>\n

Unsere Tour beginnt in M\u00e9rtola, bekannt als das \u201eMuseumsdorf\u201c, einst die Hauptstadt des damals m\u00e4chtigen maurischen Reiches und wo die Geschichte in charmanten Schichten eingraviert ist.<\/p>\n

Von hier aus wandern wir nach Pomar\u00e3o und Mina de S\u00e3o Domingos, wo die Guadiana<\/a> wendet sich landeinw\u00e4rts nach Nordwesten. Es wurde im 19. Jahrhundert zu einem gesch\u00e4ftigen Hafen, als eine britische Firma eine Mine 15 km n\u00f6rdlich besiedelte. Das Erz wurde \u00fcber eine Eisenbahnlinie von der Mine nach Pomar\u00e3o transportiert, wo es auf Schiffe verladen und flussabw\u00e4rts gebracht wurde. Was von der Mine \u00fcbrig geblieben ist, erinnert an eine Mondlandschaft, die auf keinem Sci-Fi-Filmset fehl am Platz w\u00e4re.<\/p>\n

Alcoutim Schmugglerstatue<\/p><\/div>\n

Alcoutim ist ein weiterer Ausgangspunkt unserer Tour, ein malerisches Dorf mit Blick auf San Lucar am anderen Ufer des Flusses in Spanien. Obwohl es kleiner als M\u00e9rtola war, war es zu Zeiten der Ph\u00f6nizier ein wichtiger Flusshafen.<\/p>\n

Von hier aus unternehmen wir sch\u00f6ne Spazierg\u00e4nge in der Natur, unter anderem auf dem \u201eBlauen Drachenfluss\u201c, wie der Odeleite-Staudamm aufgrund seiner besonderen Form auch genannt wird.<\/p>\n

Der Naturpark des Guadiana-Tals und die abwechslungsreichen Landschaften entlang des Flusses bieten ein einzigartiges \u00d6kosystem aus mediterraner Macchia, Felsvorspr\u00fcngen und einer Kulisse aus kleinen landwirtschaftlichen Fl\u00e4chen, Wasser und Windm\u00fchlen.<\/p>\n

Die Tierwelt ist \u00fcppig und es herrscht ein Gef\u00fchl der Ruhe in diesem noch unber\u00fchrten Teil des Territoriums, das reich an Erbe, Geschichte und Naturwundern ist.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
