Les archives historiques montrent que dans le pass\u00e9, la zone \u00e9tait occup\u00e9e par les Arabes qui se sont install\u00e9s autour d&#039;une petite lagune dont les marais ont \u00e9t\u00e9 ass\u00e9ch\u00e9s pour cr\u00e9er des terres fertiles et des logements. Le potentiel de la r\u00e9gion de Lagoa a contribu\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re d\u00e9cisive au d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomique de la r\u00e9gion, aujourd&#039;hui bas\u00e9 sur l&#039;agriculture, la p\u00eache, la petite industrie et le tourisme.
