De landschappen van de Serra met dennenbossen, meren en gletsjervalleien genieten allemaal van schone, frisse berglucht. Het natuurpark is ook de bron van de rivieren Mondego, Z\u00eazere en Alva. Dramatische rotsen en ravijnen maken deze regio verbluffend mooi en een genot om te verkennen.<\/p>\n<p>Schapen en geiten spelen een traditionele rol bij de vervaardiging van de beroemde Serra da Estrela-kaas. Worsten en wijn zijn ook belangrijk voor de lokale economie, net als de gerookte producten en het geborduurde katoen. Ambachtslieden gebruiken hun vaardigheden in mandenwerk met vlechtwerk en kastanje. Dit is echt een paradijs voor wandelaars, niet alleen voor het geweldige wandelen, maar ook voor de schoonheid die zoveel van dit stimulerende deel van Portugal siert.<\/p>\n<p>Onze tour is gecentreerd in Manteigas, een pittoresk stadje in het hart van een gletsjervallei. Het zal onze uitvalsbasis zijn voor geweldige wandelingen tussen het prachtige landschap dat de natuur het natuurpark Serra da Estrela heeft geschonken.
